Saranjit Birdi - Artist and Architect
  Digital Works
I studied multimedia Technology at East Birmingham College in 1995, in the use of digital software packages for 2D imaging and 3D animation. Computers do not make artwork any easier than pencils or paints, they are just a different tool for the artist to explore. Some digital images can take weeks to complete, such as in the case of 'Flight of the Raven'. A fantastic array of computer software is now available for manipulation of photographic, scanned and computer generated images or collages.
The works below are a sample of a larger series works which are also of signed, archival quality limited edition prints available to buy. For purchase or information on the Digital Artwork please Contact me.

  Animation Works

In 1998 I completed an MA research, “Synthesis as a Conceptual Basis for Design”, at the University of Central England, Birmingham. The essence of my research, investigated the work and teachings of Kandinsky and artists/theorists of the Modern movement and involved exploring the connections between dance, music and architectural form using digital imaging, computer animation and video. I took three pieces of music and interpreted them as a computer animation, a choreographed dance and a hypothetical building interior. The three pieces of music were; 'Inner City Life' by Goldie, 'Opus 5' by Anton Webern and 'Harmonic Convergence' by Steve Halpern.
