Seams Of Time
This pavement trail comprises seven bronze plaques alluding to important characters, events and economic developments in Highley’s history. Each themed plaque bears the nicknames of miners which, by mining tradition, were handed down from father to sons through the generations. As requested by the community, I have used all the nicknames that were available at the time through archives and face-to-face consultation. Each plaque has a separate theme to which the nicknames relate and are strategically placed.
